Highlights from our pre-Labor Day weekend camping trip














Other highlights, not photographed:

--Dave's index finger after he nearly bifurcated it with an axe while splitting wood to smoke the beef brisket Saturday morning. Several hours in a Gaylord hospital and 4 stitches later, almost good as new. And the brisket was still delicious.

--Snakes. The 3-foot long one we saw in a blackberry patch on our Jordan River Valley trail hike. And the little gray and black one I found dead in the grass at our Sturgeon River Campground campsite. Oh, and Tim's face when I held it up to show it to him.

--The guy eating the banana split while driving and somehow, unbelievably gesturing with his free hand while talking to his passenger driving in the right lane of 127 as we passed him on the way home.
