Because Drinking Milk Without These Just Isn't Fun

This is the kind of overpriced, overpackaged item you patiently wait to be on sale so you can indulge your inner adolescent and buy. Tubes made of cereal, lined with chocolate. They come in other childhood favorite cereal flavors, too.

They're not bad. Could be more chocolatey (as is the case with most things that aren't made by me). Interesting that they are brought to us by the iconic Kellogg's in Battle Creek, but are a product of Greece. For 140 calories (three straws) you still don't even rack up one measly gram of fiber. All the usual allergy warnings are on the front of the package for tree nut, peanuts, wheat, soy and dairy.

I can buy these, and people will just assume they're for my kids as I'm checking out. What I'm wondering is how these could be deployed in some kind of architectural dessert concoction. Because they're much sturdier than those cream-filled Piroulline wafer cookies. But they're just too ridiculous to be considered actual breakfast.

They put me in mind of those plastic Greek columns that Gramma K used on wedding cakes back in the day. But these are edible. You could use melted chocolate to cement a Joe-Joe on the top and bottom for stability. You could build an edible airport parking deck out of chocolate and graham crackers and these straws.
