Raleigh/Outer Banks, North Carolina Pics

We pull up to the Bermuda-esque condo complex in Kill Devil Hills after spending nearly an hour trying to find it. Guess which one our unit is: the hot pink one! Ellen and I were girlishly amused. The guys, not so much.

Bryan's shrimp andouille sausage penne pasta. Half-ass equipped kitchen? No problem: use the bottom of the broiler pan for a large skillet!

The Wright Brothers memorial on the hilltop, with a bronze tableau in the foreground.

Beach debris, Hatteras National Shoreline. I managed to find one unbroken sand dollar.

Bryan and Ellen in a bracing, cold breeze

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

We were truly impressed by these surfers near Hatteras Lighthouse.

Ellen's Zwiebelkuchen she whipped up in the condo

Roasted rockfish with caper butter, courtesy of Sugar Shack Seafood in Nag's Head, and Chris. He also lightly dusted the oysters we bought with flour and pan fried them to crispy sweetness.
