Ah.... the old Mail Pouch barns. Good to capture as many as possible before they're all fallen down. And what's the big columnar monument?
Among all the many other things we feasted upon, we had an ice cream smackdown on Wednesday night. After our grilled beef tenderloin and corn on the cob. That's niece Lorena building an 'explosion' dessert, complet with crumbled cookies, brownies, M&Ms and Hershey's syrup.
The memorial is the Oliver Hazard Perry Victory memorial. You can ride an elevator to the top and see all of Put-in-Bay, South Bass Island, and all of the other neighboring islands. They say on a clear day you can easily see Toledo.
The Mail Pouch barn was about a mile west of the Old Tobacconist's Inn. It caught my eye as a good old piece of nostalgia, even though none of us have anything to do with smoking.
