Home For A Day

Back home briefly, and then off again tomorrow for a weekend camping trip with friends two hours north. So far on vacation we've hosted a barbecue/party for my favorite river-rafting brother-in-law and sister-in-law here from Tucson and their old Michigan friends Saturday. We watched the Bavarian Festival parade on Sunday in Frankenmuth and chowed down on pretzels and grilled bratwurst. Then we spent three surprisingly delightful days with the entire Reinert clan in a rented house in the Sandusky, Ohio area. We rode roller-coasters at Cedar Point, watched fire-flies, played pool, ate ice cream, visited the Put-in-Bay area, rode bicycles in the rain, and ate s'mores around a fire. Can't think of too many better ways to fill up a week off in the summer.
